Many of us did not receive substantive training in private practice management during graduate school. We are here to fill that need and offer a friendly space to get together online to discuss the tricky issues that can arise managing a practice.

Private Practice Salon is a bimonthly group open to any SMACT members interested in focusing on the “nuts and bolts” of private practice management. We would love to have you join us! Feel free to drop in when needed or show up regularly.

Topics have included: insurance and client billing, documentation (progress notes, practice policies, informed consent), Telehealth, scheduling, navigating cancelations, EHRs (e.g., SimplePractice), and responding to medical records requests. The agenda is open and decided upon at the start of each meeting.

Beginning in January we will be changing the time PPS is offered to second Fridays from 8:00 to 9:30 am and we will meet every other month.
